Costume pieces are a very sought after celebrity collectible that very few collectors can boast of having in their collections. However, collectors of Hollywood memorabilia, whether it cover all films or celebrities, or whether it only focuses on a specific celebrity, are always eager to add costume pieces to their collections. In fact, costume pieces can become the crowing achievement of any collectors collection.

Why are costume pieces such sought after celebrity collectibles? The reason is very simple. It has to do with the rarity of the celebrity collectibles in question. When a film is produced only a specific number of costume pieces are made. For instance, the famous red dress from the film "Gone With The Wind". Only two such costume pieces were made. Therefore, if you are a collector who owns one of these two costume pieces as a celebrity collectible, then you own a piece of cinematic history that only one other collector owns. This means that the value of the costume pieces and your overall collection will far outweigh general collectors. You will have something so rare, and of value that other collectors will attempt to purchase the item from you, in order to set their own personal collection over the top.

The more rare and hard to find the celebrity collectible in your collection, the more valuable your collection will be. This is why so many seasoned and professional collectors are always seeking out costume pieces to add to their collections. Especially, if the costume pieces in question appeared in a film that has been deemed "classic," or a film that has won a great deal of critical acclaim and or awards.

Many collectors have even began to collect costume pieces from more current films, knowing that in a decade or two from now, that the film in which the costume pieces appeared, may end up being deemed "classic." This will then make these more modern cinematic costume pieces of great value in the near future. Most collectors who do purchase modern day costume pieces will be very particular about what types of items they are adding to their collection. They will only purchase costume pieces that appeared in films that won Oscars or were very controversial. These two standards can usually assure that the film will later on down the road become a classic.

If the celebrity who wore the costume piece is no longer living, then the value on the celebrity collectible usually grows. This is due to the fact that the celebrity actual lived and breathed in the costume piece while they were on this earth. For many collectors this is the main reason why they collect costume pieces. It is to let them touch something and own something that was touched by the celebrity they idolize and collect celebrity memorabilia items of. It is a way for the collector to feel more in touch and connected to the celebrity they have based their celebrity collectible collection on.

Costume pieces as celebrity collectibles is on the rise. If you wish to set your own celebrity collection over the top, you will want to acquire one or more sought after costume pieces.
