Most collectors of celebrity photographs are also collectors of autographed celebrity photos. In fact, the majority of collectors only collect celebrity photographs that have been autographed. However, all collectors are aware that it can be hard to obtain autographed celebrity photographs that are one hundred percent authentic. In fact, it can be a full time job just making sure a single photograph you are seeking out for your collection is legitimate.

Experienced collectors are already aware that the only way to make sure you're your celebrity photograph has an authentic autograph on it, is to be there when the photo is being signed. This is the only way a collector can ever be sure that the photo in question is authentic beyond a shadow of a doubt.

With that in mind, there is a growing trend of celebrity autograph signings. In fact, many of these signings were created and or founded by actual celebrities, in order to appease their fans. Many celebrities have learned that no matter what they do, they will always be hounded by their fans for photos and autographs. This is one reason why many celebrities endorse these types of events. It gives them a way to meet their fans with security and in an organized manner that is very different then a fan a running up to them on the street.

The majority of these signings are open to the general public. You simply need to seek out locations that have had these types of signings in the past, and contact them to see which celebrities will be conducting signings in the future. You can even be asked to be added to their snail mail or email list to receive notices when other celebrities will be appearing.

Another way to find out if a specific celebrity will be appearing publicly for a autograph signing, is to subscribe to that celebrities fan club or personal mailing list. They will generally send out notices whenever the celebrity is appearing in the public. This is a way for these types of clubs to connect the fans with the celebrities in a safe environment.

In most cases you never need to be invited to such events. You simply need to show up at the designated times. However, if you expect the celebrity in question to have a major turn out of fans you will need to show up early, or in some cases a day or more at a time in order to wait in line to meet the celebrity. The majority of celebrities have a schedule that they have to maintain and will only stay their scheduled time and will not stay longer even if there are more fans waiting for their chance to receive an autograph.

One other thing to keep in mind and note when attending such celebrity photo signings is to be aware that some celebrities do charge a fee before signing the photograph. This is not true of every celebrity but is true of a large percentage of them. You should contact the location holding the signing in advance and ask them for the details along with the prices of the autographs if there is one.
