You may purchase a great piece of celebrity art, whether it be an autographed portrait, a signed painting or a drawing, or even a sculpture which has been signed by the artist who made it. All of these pieces of art can be great pieces of decoration for all of the style, ambiance, and prestige that they carry. They could be the prized piece of your collection, something which you proudly want to display. A great many people feel this way about certain works of art. Unfortunately, this is something that many unscrupulous people know and they might try to sell you something which is not actually authentic.

Many works of art are stunning replications of already existing pieces. These pieces could many any collector think that they had the genuine thing and they would be willing to pay top dollar for these pieces. Unfortunately, these forgeries are simply done by frauds who are trying to swindle you out of thousands of dollars. Before you buy any piece, you should ensure that the piece you are aiming to collect is actually genuine. There are a number of ways to do this, but one of the most simple ways is to have sure that the piece has a Certificate of Authenticity.

These Certificates of Authenticity are important for any pieces of autographed art because they show that the piece is, in fact, an original and the certificate bears the responsibility of identifying it as so. This certificate will either come from the original artist and the people who produced the work of art, or from a group of experts relating to the artist in question. In the cases of truly old paintings, only these experts can accurately determine if the piece is truly an original by that artist or simply a very clever styling. The certificates are important because they can help bring the responsibility of authenticity to the piece.

One must be careful, however, for even these Certificates of Authenticity can be forged by a clever fraud. You must always ensure that the certificate of authenticity checks out before purchasing a work of art because otherwise, you could be wasting your money in a scam. Do the research that is located behind the Certificate of Authenticity because it will tell you if the experts who have examined the painting and verified it as authentic actually are experts in the field. People have been fooled by a forged Certificate of Authenticity before.

Every genuine Certificate of Authenticity contains information regarding the artist's full name as well as the name of the piece. It will also list the names of any experts who have verified the painting as well as contact information for those experts, so you can contact them to verify that they gave their approval to the work. These certificates will also list specifics about the painting, such as the dimension of the frame. It could be entirely possible as well that a scam artist got their hands on a real certificate of authenticity and are trying to pass it off with a fake painting. When dealing with rare, collectible autographed art, you must always be careful to double check all of your facts before you make the purchase.
