Die hard lovers of the cinema are known to collect framed movie posters as celebrity collectibles. This is very true of collectors who collect items related to a specific actor or actress. For instance, if a collector only collects items related to the actor Johnny Depp, they will no doubt want to acquire posters from all the films in which this actor appeared. They will then frame these posters and place them on the walls of their celebrity collectibles viewing room.

When adding framed movie posters to your celebrity collection you will first want to start by making a list of all the films in which the actor or actress has taken part; or you will want to make a list of the films that they appeared in that you wish to acquire posters of. However, avid and seasoned collectors will seek out posters from every movie in which their celebrity appeared in whether they liked the movie or not. They do this in order to capture and document and the entire life and career of the celebrity they collect items of.

Once they have a list of all the movies which they hope to acquire posters of they will then need to figure out what type of posters they wish to add to their collection. Do they only want first print posters that were sent to the theaters when the movie opened? Or are they fine with replicas of the original movie poster.

According to who the actor is and what movie you are seeking a poster of, you may not always be able to acquire an original poster. Many movie studios require that theaters return the posters after the film leaves their theater. However, there are many movie theaters that have no problem in giving away their posters after a movie has had its run. You simply will need to ask the manager of the location to see what their specific theater does with the posters.

If a film is very old it may be nearly impossible for you to obtain a first print poster. This is in regards from older films such as the likes of "Gone With The Wind," "Platoon," "Patton", and older film posters that they may not have been reprinted during our modern day.

However, the majority of movie poster can be found as replications. Many poster companies that can be found exclusively on the Internet specialize in hard to find replications of original posters. They generally carry a huge stock of movie related posters, however, if they don't have what you are looking for you can generally contact the company via email and ask them if they can inquire the poster from their various sources.

Most collectors will also frame the poster in order to protect the poster from being ripped or getting crumpled. They will also do this in order to protect it from water or other elements that may cause the poster damage.

Above all, be sure to protect any and all posters that are part of your collection in order to maintain their worth and appeal.
